Song Review : Blind Pilot – Half Moon (2011)

Good day peeps!
the title tells it all.
I've heard this song for the first time when I was watching Chuck.yep, I believe most of the people out there will be reminded of One Tree Hill whenever this song's played. Trust me, I didn't and don't watch OTH. when I listened to this song for the first time, I was like,
'What song is this?so catchy-stroke-to-my-heart mode'
without further ado, let me just go straight to the point. here I am standing (nah, I'm sitting on my chair right now) to give a shot on my personal point of view about this song.

Blind Pilot - Half Moon (2011)

That morning sky gave me a look
So I left while you were sleeping
That's all it took
And I chalked a line in the south down the coast
Going where my thirst was open
For the things that I don't know
Going where I wasn't paying
For the hurt that I owe
One half moon sleeping by the creeks
And a woman put me under
Her barn roof for a week
I knew her voice before she spake
I saw a grave dug by a preacher
Just to see what it would make
So hold high how faint your reasons
(Boy, you'll never get on)
Don't you forget you came from nothing
(Boy you'll never get on)
That wind is calling my name
And I won't wait
Or I'll never get on.
It's not hard to live like a ghost
I just haunt all that I've wanted
And leave what I don't
I dreamt a trail up to the sky
And my brothers built the propellers
Just to see how far they'd fly
So hold high how faint your reasons
Your flashing sparrows chasing with them
Don't you forget you come from nothing
That wind is calling my name
And I won't wait
Or I'll never get on

basically, for me, this song talks about someone's running away from something / someone  i don't know, going somewhere because he's likely can't settle down with that something/someone without hurting them who are closed to him.
then he talked about his life after disappear from the loved ones thing, how he gonna tried to move on, on how he gonna live- the aftermath situation,
"It's about the romance of a life that is drenched with beauty and experience and passion, even though it's being led by a hurtful and heartless person. It's about setting sails to the wind, and treating the people along the way as nothing more than moments and scenery"
this song is quite a motivation for me as the line 'don't forget you come from nothing' tells me not to forget where'd you came from and to get the best for our lives, a sacrifice/ sacrifices is/are significant.
after all, this song got my credits in my book
